Documentary filmmaker born in Rosario (Argentina) in 1974, I studied at the Foundation University of Cinema in Buenos Aires, at the Centre of Cinematographic Studies of Catalonia (CECC) in Barcelona, and at the Pompeu Fabra University, where I took a Master’s Degree in Creative Documentary. I write, direct, photograph and edit audiovisual projects. I have focused my career on ethnographic documentary, a subject I also teach. My filmography includes ten feature-length documentaries dealing with subjects such as memory, Barcelona’s neighbourhoods, migratory processes and the world of drugs.
Throughout my more than thirty years of professional career, I have filmed in places such as Lebanon, Pakistan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Samoa, Senegal, Kenya, Turkey, Mauritania, Morocco and, of course, in Barcelona, my city of adoption. In addition to feature-length documentaries and an extensive teaching activity, I have produced numerous audiovisual works for different cultural entities, universities, public administrations, social movements and trade unions. I have been awarded the 2008 National Culture Award of Catalonia, the prize for best documentary at the Malaga Festival, the prize for best documentary at Documenta Madrid, the Écran d’Argent at the Festival Européen des 4 Écrans in Paris, and the Barcelona Awards prize for best documentary (current Gaudí Awards).
