Professor of African History at the University of Barcelona, I was born in Barcelona in 1968. My speciality is Spanish colonialism in Africa. My thesis analysed the continuities between the Moroccan campaigns (1909-1927) and the Spanish Civil War, and was published under the title La guerra que vino de África.
I have done special research on the history of Equatorial Guinea, a country in which I have carried out extensive fieldwork. In this area I am the author of works such as, for example, Guinea Ecuatorial, historia en blanco y negro, Un guardia civil en la selva, La última selva de España, Corisco y el estuario del Muni (1470-1931), etc. At the same time, I have carried out studies on the trafficking of enslaved people in Africa, and I have published: Traficants d’ànimes. Els negrers espanyols a l’Àfrica. I have also taught at the Pompeu Fabra University, the National University of Distance Education, the Paul Valéry University in Montpellier, the Federal University of Latin American Integration in Foz do Iguaçu and the National University of Equatorial Guinea.
