PhD in Anthropology and Professor in the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Barcelona. Researcher in charge for (Tr)african(t)s. I have worked for many years in Mauritania, Western Sahara, and Cape Verde in the field of colonial anthropology and, in particular, on the impact of colonial policies on the morphology of colonized societies.

Similarly, I have been interested in the influence exerted by the colonial experience in the former metropolises, either by establishing an exclusionary representation of the former colonized (in this case, racism and Islamophobia, which have occupied part of my research in Catalonia), or by contributing decisively to the consolidation and naturalization of plundered heritages through institutions such as, for example, ethnological or natural history museums.
