Pieces

The volume of collections at the Natural Sciences Museum of Barcelona is currently unmanageable. For this reason, in a first phase of research, we have focused on studying the Moroccan collection of chordates, of which we have 274 computerized records, of the more than 34,000 specimens contained in the entire collection of chordates.

Origin

Among the collectors, Joan Baptista Aguilar-Amat Banús and Santiago Novellas Bofill stand out, representing almost 50% of the collection, mainly bird skins taken between 1921 and 1932. Pius Font i Quer stands out for his collection of birds from 1932 and also F. Ibáñez, who collected a variety of fish on an expedition in 1920.
