Exhibition: Who Owns History?

"Who Owns History? Struggles for the Decolonization of Museums" is an exhibition curated by Celeste Muñoz Martínez, Alba Valenciano Mañé, and Laida Memba Ikuga, which aims to raise awareness about Catalonia's colonial past and its current implications, highlighting the transformation of museums and their relationship with colonialism. The exhibition will explore contemporary debates on decolonization, linking them to social inequalities and racism.

The exhibition vindicates the right of diasporic communities to their history, with examples such as those of Leandro Mbomio and Alphonse Arcelin, as paradigmatic cases of cultural restitution.
The exhibition is linked to global anti-racist protests such as Black Lives Matter and seeks to bring academic research closer to the general public, creating spaces for reflection and awareness, contributing to the transformation of cultural policies and the decolonization of heritage.

It is planned to begin its tour of the Library Network of Catalonia in September 2025.
